Meetings and Events
The EOUA meets every second Saturday of the year (with the exception of July and August), unless that date conflicts with a holiday or tournament weekend.Our meetings start with a brief business meeting. This is followed by a training or information session. Our meetings are open, without invitation, to anyone interested in our association. If a new attendee feels that membership would be to their advantage they may join the association at any future meeting by paying the membership fee at that time.
Please email us for the date, time and location of the next meeting. We normally meet in Brockville, which is centrally located for most of us.
During the fall sessions we examine the rules of professional baseball, section by section, in a round table discussion. Over the winter we focus on mechanics clinics, accreditation clinics and as spring arrives and we can get on the diamond, we focus on field mechanics.
Our sessions are skill and knowledge oriented, and contain information of interest to beginning and advanced umpires. We also incorporate the rules and coverage difference an umpire would need in softball, small diamond, youth and competitive baseball.
